Ambient Work

This week, I’ve been making ambient music.

It’s a genre I’m not familiar with, so it was fun to learn a new avenue.

Here’s a couple of slow relaxing, slightly mournful tracks…

Shepherd – Championship Mode track

We’re just getting the last bit of polish and gameplay massaging in for Shepherd just now, including a mind-blowingly intense Championship Mode.

Just putting the finishing touches on the audio too. Here’s a sneak peek of the Championship Mode remix tune

Assault on Precinct 13 cover

This was an odd one.  As soon as those riots started in London I’ve had John Carpenter’s ‘Assault on Precinct 13’ theme tune in my head.  Decided the other day to do a quick cover of it.  Then I re-structured it so my mate Chet could rap on it if he liked. So here’s what I made, arranged as an instrumental ready for the addition of lyrics.

French Electropop, anyone?

Not sure why this happened, but I accidentally made some French Electropop. I spent most of my childhood listening to Oxygène, one of my Mum’s favourite albums. I always wondered when it would start affecting my output, and it seems like it’s suddenly kicked in decades later!

Acid Rain now up on the AppStore

That cute little iPhone action puzzler I did the music for is up on the AppStore to buy now.  It’s a really, really good little game.  Lots of fun and ace graphics.  The audio isn’t bad either 😉

Here’s a link to the iTunes store for purchasing and more info!  http://itunes.apple.com/us/app/acid-rain/id412650688?mt=8

From the archives – “My Arms Don’t Work So Good”

So I found this digging around my audio archives on the weekend. It was the example performance track that I had to send Simon Greenall for Biffovision so he could learn the song melody.

The song was to be sung by a frail, strange puppet.

Also, i’ve just noticed I’ve got an page on IMDB!  How exciting!

Music for ‘Shepherd’

Well, at least that’s the working title.  Shepherd is Infinite States of London’s next effort – a frantic score attack shooter.  There’s cute sheep to protect, ugly aliens to destroy, cosmic space age weapons, destructible landscapes, score multipliers… everything a growing boy could need.

Here’s a couple of teaser tunes I’ve made for it so far

Super Snake HD on AppStore

Hello there!

Just heard that Super Snake HD is up on the AppStore.

Enjoy some harmless garden-reggae and exquisite snake omming noises 😀

Snake music!

So recently I was working on some background music for an iPhone game based around the good ol’ Nokia Snake game.

It’s just a little non-offensive background music we did, but I thought I’d pop it up here for fun…

Acid Rain!

Hello!  Lately I’ve been doing some audio design for a project my friends at Bal Rokko games are working on.

It’s a cute iPhone action puzzler called ‘Acid Rain’

Some lovely, trippy synthy work for the levels, and a little acoustic guitar by my good pal Ross Nicoll on the title screen.

Been lucky with the rainy weather lately too, which has meant I’ve been able to record some white-hot weather foley!

The game is near completion and playing nicely so it should be submitted to the AppStore very soon.

For a cheeky preview, here’s the background music for the ‘normal mode’ I’ve just finished…

Enjoy!
